WINK DJs

Lia Knight --- Weeknights at 7pm

Way back in the late 60's, in a small little Kentucky town, I came screaming into this world. My mom, a Southern Belle housewife, and my dad, a farmer, bar owner, janitor, banjo picker, had finally had enough kids. I was the last of four and, believe me, I think I was the reason they didn't want anymore!

I grew up in an even smaller town in Kentucky, with not much to do there but plug my ears while my dad tried to pick his banjo and run through the sprinklers on a hot summer's day.

I was Daddy's Little Girl. Even though I hated that banjo, I loved my dad. The hardest thing I ever went through in my life was the death of my dad. That was 1983, when I was only fifteen. Too much for a young girl to take!

I left Kentucky, my family, my friends and my life behind and moved hundreds of miles cross-country to be with my oldest sister, Connie (my role model, best friend and confidante), and her husband. I finished school and, purely by accident, I got into Country radio.

As far as this show goes, I just want you to know that we all work very hard each night to put this thing together. I'm so lucky to have such a great couple of guys to work with.

Hello!, I'm one of the new DJ's here at  WINK COUNTRY, but have been involved in radio since I was in High School. I'm a local who went to Keene schools and Keene State College. I needed some adventure in my life after school so I moved to Colorado to be a ski bum for about 10 years, where I worked at a National Public Radio station in Crested Butte.
I moved back to New Hampshire and ended up getting a job here at the radio station.

You can always catch me doing the Swap Shop every Sunday morning from 8-11am!

In my limited spare time I dabble in antiques( I have a NH auctioneer license also), plus bike and hike the many great trails and mountains in the area!

I can honestly say I have the best job ever! Being on air is unlike anything I have ever done. I can't get enough of it!
I truly feel like I found my calling. I'm so lucky to have a job that I love so much! Not everyone can say that.

I was once told that "the job you choose should be the one you would do even if you weren't getting paid". Hey wait....I did that for a few months but they called it an "internship". Hmmm.... Well I guess that saying must be true!

I've been at the Monadnock Radio Group since October 2007.  I always get asked how I got into this field. Well, as Hamel likes to say "he pulled me off the street".  I saw an ad for a job doing the 7- midnight shift, thought it sounded like fun, so I sent Steve an email. And the rest as they say "is history".

Thank you so much for all of the phone calls and emails that I get!

Let's see, I started in radio back in 1997. Began my career when I was 15 years old at a college station near my hometown of Antrim. I then moved on to my first paid job in radio at the now defunct WNHQ in Milford. Started off doing overnights and weekends at WKNE FM, then moved to evenings, then middays, did afternoons for a while then back to nights.

2007 kicked off a new beginning for me, after being in full-time radio for almost 6 years I've decided to change careers but still hold part-time status at KNE FM and 98.7 WINK Country.

I am now a full-time police dispatcher for Cheshire County. Still holding 2 pt positions ar Cheshire Medical Center and manage to DJ at Yankee Lanes which I've been doing now for 8 years.

In my spare time (yes I do have some free time), I enjoy bowling, skiing, hanging with friend and family. going to amusement parks, and of course going on Carnival Cruises. Email Bob
