Each week Mark will help feature an adoptable critter of the week to help them find their new forever home faster from the Monadnock Humane Society on Route 10 in Swanzey.

Mark’s Country Critter of the Week is proudly powered by WW Building Supply!

This week’s Country Critter:

Gaia | Female | Domestic Longhair | Grey | 4 years 11 months

Gaia is a 4-year-old beauty with a truly luxurious coat that turns heads wherever she goes. She’s a loving, sweet girl who has a lot to give-but only on her terms. Gaia knows exactly what she wants (and doesn’t want), and she’s not shy about it. She’ll need an adult-only home (18+ please) with no other cats, dogs, or kiddos. This regal lady deserves her kingdom all to herself.

Her stunning coat will require regular maintenance to keep it as gorgeous as she is, but that small bit of extra effort is more than worth it. Once Gaia settles in, you’ll find that her affectionate, devoted nature far outshines her particular preferences. If you’re looking for a one-and-only feline companion who will love you deeply, Gaia is ready to bring joy and grace into your life. Come to MHS during our public hours, Thursday through Sunday, 11am – 3pm, to meet Gaia!

Nettle, Ivy, Thistle, Moss
2-month-old female hamsters

Meet our four sweet little hamsters, each ready to scurry their way into a loving forever home! These cuties were part of a surprise litter of fifteen, and after most found homes, the last six came to us (2 have since been adopted!). They spent their first 8–9 weeks being gently handled in their original home, which has made them wonderfully handleable—just a soft scoop is all they need! They’ve even had experience with children and did well, showing just how adaptable and friendly they can be. Each one has their own quirks and personality, but all share a curious and kind nature, eager to explore the world around them. Like all hamsters, they’ll thrive with deep bedding for burrowing, a proper wheel for exercise, and plenty of enrichment to keep their busy minds happy. These little adventurers have so much life ahead of them—could one be the perfect new friend for you? Come find out during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11-3

The Monadnock Humane Society is located at 101 W. Swanzey Road (off Route 10) in Swanzey, NH. Visiting hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11am-3pm.  Click here to contact them
