Each week Mark will help feature an adoptable critter of the week to help them find their new forever home faster from the Monadnock Humane Society on Route 10 in Swanzey.

Mark’s Country Critter of the Week is proudly powered by WW Building Supply!

This week’s Country Critter:

Luna
8-year-old female| grey long-haired cat

Luna is a bright, affectionate girl who loves being part of her person’s day. She enjoys attention, interactive play, and especially wand toys that let her show off her playful side. Luna forms strong bonds with her people and thrives in a calm, predictable home where she can relax and enjoy plenty of one-on-one time. If you’re looking for a cat who will happily engage with you and keep you company, Luna has a lot of love and personality to share.

Luna does have some special needs that will help her continue to thrive. She has a history of chronic litterbox issues, but she has been doing very well in our care when her routine and setup are followed. Luna needs at least two large, flat litter pans with clay litter that are scooped daily, and she does best in a quiet home without other animals or children. She also takes a daily anti-anxiety medication, which she accepts easily in a pill pocket, and will likely need long-term. With the right routine and a calm, patient home, Luna is ready to continue thriving and sharing her affectionate personality with the people who welcome her in. Come meet her at MHS during their open hours, Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chocolate Chip

  • Male Dutch Rabbit
  • Chocolate color
  • 4 months old

Chocolate Chip is a 4-month-old bunny with a personality just as sweet as his name. He’s friendly, curious, and loves being around people. This well-socialized little guy settles in easily and would be a great match for both first-time bunny owners and experienced rabbit lovers. If you’re looking for a gentle, adorable companion who’s ready to hop right into family life, come meet him at MHS during their open hours, Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jager

10 yr old, neutered male, domestic shorthair cat

This man is large and in charge! Jager came into MHS at a whooping 34 pounds!! He is a big, sweet gentleman with an even bigger heart… and now on a serious diet. He does need to continue his weight loss program and his adopter will need to work alongside a veterinarian to support his progress to keep him happy and healthy. MHS is helping him with his meal plans and working on his play routines to encourage movement and exercise. Good news, it’s working and he’s already down a few pounds – congratulations Jager! Jager can be a little shy at first, but once he settles in, he completely melts- he’s a total purr machine who adores attention and loves being near his people. Underneath that initial uncertainty is an affectionate, loyal companion who truly bonds with his humans. If your life is missing a big hunk, come meet him during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11a-3p.
