Each week Mark will help feature an adoptable critter of the week to help them find their new forever home faster from the Monadnock Humane Society on Route 10 in Swanzey.

Mark’s Country Critter of the Week is proudly powered by WW Building Supply!

This week’s Country Critter:

Nova
Female |Terrier, Pit Bull | Tan | 7 years 1 month

Nova is a sweet, gentle girl who is learning just how wonderful life can be. Since coming to MHS, she has made wonderful progress, becoming more comfortable with handling, leashes, harnesses, and new people. These days, Nova happily greets strangers and enjoys affection, especially chin and neck scratches.
Nova is dog-social and has lived with multiple dogs. She may enjoy a similarly sized, dog-savvy canine companion, and MHS can help determine if she and your dog are a good match. Her history with cats and children is unknown.
Nova will thrive with a patient family who can give her time, respect her personal space, and help her build confidence at her own pace. With understanding and encouragement, Nova has the potential to become a deeply affectionate and rewarding companion. She deserves the chance to discover her best self, and we believe her brightest days are still ahead.
If she sounds like your perfect girl, come meet her during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11a-3p.

Guggi

7.5-year-old female, domestic medium hair

Guggi is a sweet, sensitive girl who is learning just how wonderful life can be. Since coming to MHS, she has made wonderful progress, settling in and getting comfortable with the new environment and lovely new people. Guggi is affectionate and sweet, showing off her wonderful attributes to those who stop to say hello.

Guggi will thrive as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home where she can have plenty of time, patience, and predictability. With time to settle in, Guggi will be a loving and devoted companion. Guggi deserves the chance to discover her best self, and we believe her brightest days are still ahead. If she sounds like your perfect girl, come meet her during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11a-3p.

Catrick Swayze (Spirit Cat)

3-year-old male, domestic shorthair, black

Catrick is a quiet, independent cat looking for a patient adopter who will let him settle in at his own pace. He can be shy and cautious around new people, but with a predictable routine and plenty of space, he has the potential to build confidence over time. He would do best in a calm home with older children, if any, and may be happiest with female cats or as the only pet.

Catrick should begin in a larger, quiet room where he can adjust before exploring the rest of the home. He appreciates having his boundaries respected and will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time. Whether he blossoms into a more affectionate companion or remains an independent spirit, Catrick deserves a family who will love him for exactly who he is. If you’re interested in meeting him, please come visit during our open hours, Thursday- Sunday from 11a-3p.

The Monadnock Humane Society is located at 101 W. Swanzey Road (off Route 10) in Swanzey, NH. Visiting hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11am-3pm.  Click here to contact them
