KEENE, NH – SAU 29 is set to host a series of public forums to gather feedback from the community as they work on building a 5-year plan for all of the districts.

A “Portrait of a Graduate” survey has been available for the last couple of weeks, that SAU 29 Superintendent Robb Malay says asks a series of questions in a number of focus areas, including academics, core values, diversity/equity/inclusion, mission, Portrait of a Graduate (PoG), professional development, school safety, and social-emotional learning.

According to an email from the SAU, PoG basically means the skills and characteristics the community wants all graduates to possess.

“These are the things that we think they should have and be able to do,” Malay said in an interview with WKBK last week. “We’re basically trying to create one because we believe that if we can identify those skills that we all believe are important, or those characteristics that we all believe are important, it’ll help us develop the students while they are in our schools.”

The survey remains open on the SAU’s website until 3 pm Friday September 29th, and will be followed up by a series of public forums around the SAU.

There are seven scheduled forums during the month of October that the SAU announced Thursday. The schedule is as follows…
October 5th – Keene Middle School, 6 pm
October 17th, 30th – Virtual, 6 pm
October 18th – Nelson School, 6 pm
October 19th – Chesterfield School, 6 pm
October 24th – location TBD, 6 pm
October 26th – Marlborough School, 6 pm

The SAU didn’t elaborate on how to access those virtual hearings, information on that will likely be sent out in a couple of weeks.
